StephanieFoongGetaway | Bangkok Shopping Trip 2014 Travel x Shopping Tips !

Heyy, I've discovered a few Tips and Tricks to travel/shopping in BKK  base on my research before I go to BKK and my own travelling experience ! Hopefully you would find this helpful ! :D

Decided to start my post with a random recent of mine ! hAHA. Hope you dont mind !

- Travel Tips !

#1 Find out the Thai Name of your hotel, get the location map from their website and their address to make finding the hotel easier.
 - I did find have a copy of the above info of my hotel but my hotel is near to the Airport Rail Link station and it's easy to find, so we didn't use it ! But it's good to have a copy because you'll never know when will you need it !

#2 If you are a couple or you want a budget trip, go with the Train instead of any other transport ! It's convenient enough for you to travel to tourist spots and shopping area !
 - If i am not mistaken both of us only spent RM6 to reach the airport from our hotel by the City Rail Link to the airport !

#3 If you are going mainly for shopping, stay near Pratunam or Siam area !
- If you are wondering, we stayed at Budacco hotel in Pratunam which is at the Early Morning Pratunam Wholesale Market click here for my hotel review !

#4 Wear comfy attire and of course comfy shoes !

#5 Nov-Jan is the best time to visit BKK if you are somebody who are seriously afraid of hot weather, it's windy and slightly colder than normal BKK weather !

#6 I prefer to sit TukTuk which older man drives, they wont con you on the price and they won't bring you to those whatever massage places which you would never wanted to go .

#7 Choose a comfy hotel, you don't want to suffer in a dirty and uncomfy hotel after your tired day !

#8 Talk politely and always remember to smile even you don't want to make your purchase !

#9 Bring the right amount of things and clothing, you would bring back much more things that you've expected !

#10 Roadside Milk Tea and Coconut is a must !

#11 If you are planning to splurge in the Big C supermarket, make sure you get the box to pack your food at the packing counter if not you will end up like us opening up all the food and place them separately and risking to break our food ! :(

#12 Beeeeeers are so much cheaper than Malaysia, keep in mind you can only get them after 4pm !

#13 Buy Naraya Goooodies ! ( You can find them in Siam area and Asiatique !)

-Shopping Tips
( I am ranking the places we've been to during this trip by my bf and my own experience , this might not be the same for you, just a reference (: )

#1 Pratunam Early Morning Wholesale Market ( 4am-10am )
-Cheap clothes with quality. But most of the shops need you to buy 3 pieces for the wholesale price, but overall still very cheap ! Keep in mind the sellers are different on Sunday !

#2 Rot Fai Market
-You can find all kinds of things here, vintagy and not so pack and people are more friendly ! We ran out of bullets because it was the last day of our trip didn't manage to get as much things as we could ! ):

#3 Union Mall
- My bf manage to get a lot of clothes from Union Mall, people are friendlier and bargains are mostly accepted by the shop owners ! :D

#4 Platinum Mall
- There's a wide range of fashion items and good food in the food court ! Manage to get quite a lot of things here but not in very cheap prices. And people don't really bother about your bargains but still a not bad place to shop :)

#5 Chatuchak Market
- Hot, Pack and crowded. We didn't manage to get a ton of stuffs here things are pretty expensive but anywayz it's good for an experience !

*** Siam Paragon, Asiatique, Siam Center, Siam Central***
-Good place for you if you are hunting for branded goods and tourist souvenir ! Worth the experience even if you are not there for shopping ! :DD
